Happy Birthday to My Lovie

Today we will celebrate your birthday together - as we have for the past 14 years.

It feels like such a paradox to me, the entire day.

I am thankful to your mom for bringing you into this world, but sad she is not here.

I am proud of the man you have become, but can still sometimes see the little boy in you.

I am looking forward to your future birthdays, but don’t want time to go by so quickly.

You are my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
Our love will last forever: I can’t be wrong.

Happy Birthday to You, my Lovie.

And many more.

About entomama

I am a 34 year old daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and mother of two young children. I flew the nest 13 years ago when I left my home state and started a life with my now husband. Oh, and I also have a doctorate in entomology and struggle on a daily basis to have a successful career and be a good mom. Here is my story.
